End of Summer Fun!

Assistant Village Manager's Message

Fall is just around the corner, and our dedicated staff have been diligently preparing the initial 2025 budget proposals. On Friday, departments submitted their operating budget worksheets along with narratives, and supporting documents for the Capital Improvement Plan are due toward the end of the month. As September progresses, our staff will continue to refine the budget proposal, ensuring it is ready for the October budget workshop with the Village Board. Meanwhile, progress continues at the recreation center, with ongoing tile installation in the restrooms and the continuous work of framing and drywall throughout the building. We anticipate the fencing surrounding the construction site will be removed this week. Last week also saw a productive walk-through by the recreation staff and Fire Department personnel, setting the stage for our upcoming Village Board meeting tonight where we plan to provide an informative overview of communication strategies and upcoming changes to the Parks and Recreation website in advance of the facility opening. Additionally, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission is set to meet on Tuesday, September 10 for further constructive discussions regarding the recreation center fee structure and program planning.
