COVID-19 UPDATE

April 30, 2020

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has extended the “stay at home” order through May 30, 2020.

As a result of this continued mitigation effort, VILLA PARK - Parks and Recreation (VPPR) will extend the cancellation of all programs, events and rentals through May 30, 2020, with the exception of new online activities and an emergency daycare center for essential workers. Participants will be refunded or credited for any and all cancellations.  The Community Recreation Building (CRB) at 320 E. Wildwood and the Iowa Community Center (ICC) at 338 N. Iowa Ave., are closed to the public. While programs and events are cancelled, VPPR will continue to operate and staff will be available via phone and email during normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

In addition, VPPR is not providing the summer brochure via home delivery.  An electronic copy will be available on the Parks and Rec website (here) and will be updated with current information as soon as information is available.  Please continue to check back for updates.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has extended school closures for the remainder of the school year.

As a result of this continued mitigation effort, VILLA PARK - Parks and Recreation (VPPR) will extend the closure of the Village’s licensed preschool program as well. Now that the Village knows the program will not meet again for the 2019-2020 school year, refunds will begin to be processed. Reimbursements will be issued in the form of a check if payment was received as cash or check; credit cards / bank accounts will by credited if payment was made with a credit or debit card. EMERGENCY CHILDCARE UPDATE

March 30, 2020

Starting Wednesday, April 1, VILLA PARK – Parks & Recreation will be open as an emergency childcare center to the families of essential workers whom are unable to work from home. Both parents must qualify as an essential worker. The daycare, located at 338 N. Iowa Avenue (Iowa Community Center) was granted a license March 30, 2020. Children 6 weeks to 5 years old are eligible. The emergency daycare will be open Monday – Friday, 7:30 am - 6 pm, depending on the need. Please reference the State of Illinois’ list of essential workers (https://www2.illinois.gov/Pages/Executive-Orders/ExecutiveOrder2020-10.aspx) to see if your family meets the requirements. Reservations must be made 48 business hours in advance, with exception of Wednesday, April 1. The cut-off time for April 1, 2020 is March 31, 2020 at 1 pm.
