COVID-19 UPDATE
PHASE 4 – REVITALIZATION
February 3, 2021 (UPDATED February 9, 2021)
WELCOME BACK TO BEAUTIFUL PHASE 4, [aptly described as] REVITILIZATION. Gone are tiers 1, 2 and 3 (for now and hopefully forever) and the accompanying restrictions. VILLA PARK - Parks and Recreation (VPPR) is excited to continue to offer programs during the second half of the winter season and plan for programs in the spring season, while the State of Illinois continues to move in the right direction with vaccine distribution outpacing new infected residents. In continued conformity with the RESTORE ILLINOIS Plan, we will happily continue to “endure a new normal.” An electronic version of the Winter Brochure is updated regularly as more programs are expanded and offered on the Village’s website. Below please find a snapshot of programs and facilities that are being updated during Phase 4 in concert with ISBE Sports Safety Guidelines. Please call us if you have any questions at 630-834-8970.
- Preschool – Preschool, a program that met throughout the pandemic in the fall of 2020 and winter of 2021 (per authorization through IDPH and DCFS), continues to meet as scheduled.
- Funtime Junction Daycare – A modified version of the daycare, a program that met throughout the pandemic in the fall of 2020 and winter of 2021 (per authorization through IDPH and DCFS), is accepting reservations for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; 8:00 am-4:00 pm. It is the goal of VPPR to continue to move to a full schedule (open 5 days, 7:30 am-6 pm) of daycare availability. This will take some time but it is a goal. There is a shortage of early childhood teachers. If you or someone you know is interested and have a background in Early Childhood Education and have the credentials required, please submit an online application.
- Athletic Fields and Courts – All outdoor fields and courts are open for use.
- Playgrounds – All parks and playgrounds are open to the public, including the Skate Park.
