COVID-19 UPDATE – Mask Mandate
February 28, 2022, 16:26 (UPDATED March 1, 2022)
As of February 28, 2022, the statewide, indoor mask mandate has been lifted. As has been the case, the Village of Villa Park will continue to follow guidance from the state and federal level and no longer require mask wearing of its employees or visitors to Village buildings. The Governor’s Executive Order continues to require masks in healthcare settings. As of 4:26 pm on February 28, daycares and preschools NO longer have a Mask Mandate. Please note the CDC also updated their mask wearing guidance based on county community transmission levels. Currently, DuPage County is at low community transmission.
Although participants and staff will not be required to wear a mask indoors, masks are strongly recommended, especially in high risk situations such as group meetings or extended close contact with individuals. Individuals identified having a close contact exposure or having recently been confirmed positive with COVID-19 must follow mask wearing guidance as outlined by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the CDC. If you would like your child to continue wearing a mask indoors at the Iowa Community Center, please let your child’s teacher know. Village staff will support participants that want to continue wearing a mask.
Guidance related to COVID-19 continues to be very fluid and the information on this webpage will be updated as needed.
