Why is this not being enforced? Some of the fireworks I hear and see are illegal in the State of Illinois. It's very disruptive at night at hours to be awakened by loud booms. If citations were written I am sure this would decrease. During dry seasons I wonder how many fires have started because of fireworks.

Each property owner needs to do beautification projects to the best of their ability. Not only to make it nice to look at for the property owners but for those that drive or walk by. Mow lawns on a regular basis. Rake leaves if needed. Pick up trash and junk just sitting around the property. Not only make properties nice that are visible from the street but back yards as well. With weekly garbage pick up available your junk should not be on the property for longer than the next scheduled pick up. With weekly garbage pick up service availabel their is no excuse for yard waste to be dumped on a property for more than a few days until the next pick up. If you see a maintenance issue in your neighborhood organize a group to solve it or contact the village for further assistance.

Home owners and and all others living in Villa Park need to take responsibility for maintaining cleared drains and culverts so water may drain properly in heavy rains. None of us like to see a street flood when we have major rains, but we can all help a bit in this matter. Though the village does a good job in cleaning our streets all of us can help a little. If you see a storm drain covered with leaves, it would help if we took some responsibility for clearing these drains and areas in front of pipes in culverts.
With the leaves now falling, it would be a good time to keep an eye on these storm sewer areas. It is a shame to see a street flooded because a drain was blocked with leaves or other obstructions. One of the last things I do in the fall is to check the culverts so it is not clogged with leaves. When the snow falls the culverts will be covered with snow, and if you have drains blocking the free flow of water it may freeze causing a more difficult problem to be fixed.

School buses are being parked all day on village streets and they are an obstruction. They need to be parked off of the street, either in the person;s driveway or off street parking.
