FREE Big Rigs and Kids event returning to Cortesi Park

One of our favorite family-friendly events is returning for another year on Saturday, August 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Cortesi Veterans Memorial Park! Big Rigs and Kids offers people of all ages the opportunity to touch, climb in, on and around the Mobile Command Center, tow and dump trucks, and mowers and smaller village equipment.

Ken Schultz, "The Flying Fool", will entertain the crowd with his elastic, comedic face, which will surely put a smile on all!

There is a brand new edition to the event this year that will be sure to thrill! Enjoy the Helicopter Ball Drop at the adjacent Lions Park, thanks to Easterseals of DuPage and Fox Valley! The drop will take place at approximately 12:30 p.m. and you won't want to miss it.

St. Charles Rd. Bridge

Construction begins on St. Charles Road Bridge

Construction began on the St. Charles Road Bridge project the week of July 22. This project will consist of the rehabilitation of the St. Charles Road Bridge over Salt Creek. The project will be funded in part by an Illinois Special Bridge Program grant, with the Village of Villa Park, the City of Elmhurst and the State of Illinois providing funding for the remainder of project costs.

Lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction during construction. Motorists are strongly encouraged to find an alternate route during the duration of construction.

We thank residents, businesses and the public in advance for their patience during this project. For more information, click here

Pup of the Month July - Kahia Lynn

July VP Pup of the Month

9-year-old Kahia Lynn was feeling very patriotic this year as she celebrated the 4th of July! Kahia is an American Bulldog who loves to play, but if she is given a new toy she will likely destroy them in a record amount of time. Congratulations to Kahia Lynn, and owner Cindi Huntowski.

Your pup can be featured too! Each month we post our two day photo contest on our Facebook page and the winning photo gets featured in our Village Matters newsletter, this E-newsletter and our social media pages!
