Say Hello to New Businesses

Over the last month, we have celebrated two ribbon cutting ceremonies here in town to welcome in some new businesses.

On September 6th, Studio Nine salon, located at 9 E. Park Blvd, celebrated their grand opening and ribbon cutting. They will offer salon services to customers complete with an entire color bar! Appointments are suggested and you can reach them at (630) 746-9529.

Then, on September 26th, My Child's Life Matters Resale Shop, located at 704 N. Addison, celebrated their ribbon cutting. My Child's Life Matters Resale Shop is aiming to help those struggling with addiction get the resources they need. Every dollar they make, above operations, will go back into the community to help address the epidemic of opioids and other substances. They accept donations, both monetary and items to be used for resale, and all donations made are 100% tax deductible.

September VP Pup of the Month

We know that people in the village absolutely love their dogs and we decided to create a monthly photo competition where they can off their best friend for a chance to be featured here, on our social media pages and in our Village Matters publication.

Don't worry cat owners and other pets, there will be plenty more opportunities coming up soon on social media for you to show off your loving pets.

Pictured to the right is our September VP Pup of the Month: Bella Star! 9-year-old Bella was born with intervertebral disc disease and has been in a cart for 4 1/2 years now, but that doesn't get her down! Thanks to owner, Elizabeth Knapcik, for submitting this photo.

Trick-or-Treating Safety Tips

Halloween should be spooky, but never dangerous. Remember these tips to ensure a safe and happy Halloween for all Trick-or-Treaters:

  • Avoid trick-or-treating alone. Always walk in groups or with responsible, trusted adults.
  • Hold a flashlight while trick-or-treating to help you see and for others to see you!
  • Look both ways before crossing the street and use crosswalks when they are available.
  • Only eat factory-wrapped candy and treats. Avoid eating any homemade treats by strangers.

Villa Park Trick-or-Treating hours will be from 3-7 p.m on October 31st. We hope you have a very happy Halloween.
