Electronics Recycling - Saturday, January 21, 2017
In Illinois, it is illegal for electronic devices to be disposed of in a landfill, so the Village of Villa Park partnered with Roy Strom to host electronics recycling events on the third Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m.-noon at the Public Works Garage ( 20 W. Home Ave).
Now that the holidays are over and everyone has opened their new gifts, please remember that the old electronics cannot go out to the curb as part of the regular garbage pick-up.
This is a free service for Villa Park residents only, and a photo ID is required to drop off electronics. Also, only one TV may be dropped off per visit. Read more about Villa Park’s electronic waste program here.

Ice skating is now available at Cortesi Veterans Memorial Park (318 E. Kenilworth) and Jefferson Park (341 N. Harvard, just east of Jefferson Pool).
Cortesi Park is for free skating only. Jefferson Park will have two rinks: one for free skating and one dedicated to hockey. These two rinks are convertible to one big free skating rink when there are no hockey players. Also, in the event of ice melting, the rink at Jefferson Park will not be revived.
The Parks and Recreation Department owns two sets of “Pond Goals” and one set of Mini-Mite goals available for weekend rental. $10 per set allows for a Friday pick-up and requires a Monday return. You must leave a copy of your driver’s license or state ID to rent the goals.
