Public Works Department
Maple Area Project Construction
is still in progress. Removal and replacement of concrete throughout the project area are currently in progress, although those efforts have slowed due to the reduced availability of materials resulting from the labor strike. While we are hoping for a peaceful resolution to the Operators 150 strike soon, the contractor has begun parkway restoration to advance the project while aggregate material supply is limited. Final restoration with seeding and sod will take place in September due to the heat of the summer months of July and August limiting the success of grass growing.
Jackson Pond Expansion Project
will be seeking bids in the upcoming weeks. The engineering design of the expansion of the existing pond is nearly complete. The staff has held several design progress meetings with the design engineer, reviewed pre-final plans, and provided review comments to the design engineer. Staff is now working to advertise the project for bidding.
The Public Works Department is excited to be bringing three new employees onto its team to replace recent departures. This will allow the department to be fully staffed.
