Keep Fire Hydrants Clear
On Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at approximately 1:09 p.m. the Villa Park Fire Department received a dispatch call regarding a fire in the 100 block of South Princeton Avenue in Villa Park. Upon arrival, the first units found a large amount of smoke showing in the rear of the single-family residence. Crew deployed three hose lines from Villa Park Engine #82 with a hose line advanced in the rear of the building into the basement. The fire was confirmed to have started in the basement with fire extending inside the walls to the floor above. The fire was under control in approximately 30 minutes.
Firefighters lost precious time having to dig out a fire hydrant from the snow. Do your part and clear out the space surrounding fire hydrants.
