Village Matters

In alignment with our mission statement, the Village is committed to providing the best service possible while still being fiscally responsible. As we navigate the budget deficits created by the coronavirus pandemic, the difficult decision was made to transition Village Matters and similar publications to primarily electronic publications. Limited quantities of Village Matters are being printed and will be available for consumption in Village buildings, as well as at the Villa Park Public Library, for those residents who wish to read a hard copy.

The decision to release as an electronic publication was not an easy one; however, when considering that the transition would reallocate in access of $12,000 to other more sensitive projects, the choice was clear. This decision was not the first change to our processes in response to the pandemic, nor will it be the last. We appreciate the understanding and support of our residents as we aim to provide Villa Park with superior services while faced with dwindling resources during this difficult time.

What's Going on in Villa Park?

Construction season in Villa Park is in full force! One of the projects staff is currently working on is the Astor, Myrtle and Euclid Improvement Project. This project includes the separation of the combination sewer with the installation of a separate storm sewer, reconstruction of the streets, and installation of a stormwater detention vault to temporarily store stormwater during heavy rain events.

This stormwater detention vault has a 200,000 gallon underground storage vault and will help alleviate the flooding that has occurred at Astor Ct. and Myrtle Ave. For more information on other construction projects in the Village click here.
