UPDATED 1/10/2018: On January 8, 2018, the Villa Park Village Board expressed its appreciation to those who generously contributed to the development and construction of The Great Western Trail Head. Each of the honorees received a plaque for their contributions (see photo at right).
A dedication ceremony was held under the arched gateway on Villa Avenue today to further recognize those who contributed to making this striking new amenity to our community a reality. The arch marks the beginning of the trail — an abandoned spur of the former Chicago Great Western Railway — which extends for 12 miles through DuPage County.
