Street Sweeping in Villa Park

In Villa Park, the Streets Division within the Public Works Department is responsible for street sweeping along with many other road maintenance projects along the Village’s 70 miles of roadway.

The Village is divided into eight sections for street sweeping purposes. Typically, Village staff are able to sweep two sections per week, depending on the weather and the amount of leaves on the ground. The eight sections are swept in numerical order before the cycle repeats starting back at section one.

While Village staff do their best to keep roadway inlets/grates clear prior to expected rains, any assistance by residents who are able to clear the roadway inlets/grates in front of their homes is greatly appreciated given the not-always-predictable nature of the weather.

In addition, Village staff also remind residents that leaves must be bagged for yard waste pickup. Leaves should not be piled by the curb or blown into the street as this can block inlets and sewer grates during rain.
