Administration/Office

Public Works Administration includes the Public Works Director, Division Superintendents, and Public Works office and clerical staff. The administration is responsible for overseeing all operations of the department, for directing day-to-day tasks of crews and staff, and for planning future projects and operations. The administrative staff is also responsible for providing clerical support and other various services to Public Works divisions and employees.

Some of the responsibilities of Public Works Administration include:

DRAINAGE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The Village of Villa Park can provide advice and assistance to residents and property owners for areas on private property that have drainage problems. The program also allows for the sharing of costs of the construction of a proposed drainage solution on a fifty-fifty basis between the Village and the property owner(s). SEWER REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM

Residents may apply for up to $1,000.00 of assistance when addressing sanitary sewer backups that are a result of heavy rains. See the Sewer Reimbursement Program page for more information.

SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROGRAM

The maintenance of public sidewalk in the Village is ultimately the responsibility of the property owner(s). The Village has a yearly program offering 50/50 payment assistance and a group contract for the completion of the work. See the Sidewalk Replacement Program page for more information.

BUILDING & PLUMBING INSPECTION

The The Community Development and Public Works departments both have specific roles in the inspection process.

If you require a building inspection as part of your permit or construction project, building inspection is scheduled and carried out by the Community Development Department.

If you require a plumbing inspection as part of your permit or construction project, or for any other reason, plumbing inspection is scheduled and carried out by the Public Works Department. Please call (630) 834-8505 to schedule your pluming inspection.

REDUCED PRESSURE ZONE DEVICES (RPZ)

Many businesses are required by federal law to possess a reduced pressure zone device (RPZ) to prevent contaminants from potentially entering the public water supply. LICENSING, PERMITTING, PROPERTY MAINTENANCE, AND CODE ENFORCEMENT

Services related to licensing, permitting, private development, and code enforcement activities are handled primarily by the Community Development Department, however the Public Works Department provides assistance in floodplain management, plan review, plumbing inspection, and surveying. The departments share a communal office space and service counter.
