As of 6 AM today, Com Ed reports that there are 198 outages remaining in Villa Park. They expect to have all outages repaired by midnight tonight.
As of 4:00 PM yesterday, ComEd has restored about 366,000 of approximately 440,000 customer outages. By this evening, it expects to have power back to 90% of all customers. ComEd has about 400 crews on the street with 160 additional crews from Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin and Missouri. Crews from Pennsylvania are due today.
The remaining 10% of customers will be in service by today at the latest. These customers sustained more serious damage, such as downed poles, and require more extensive repairs. Finally, crews will be checking on non-power outage situations, such as tree limbs on wires.
Over the weekend, some customers may experience outages, estimated to be less than one hour, due to crews making temporary repairs permanent. Some repairs were done on a temporary basis in order to get power restored as soon as possible. As these repairs are made permanent, some short outages may occur.
