- Alarms at the Wet Weather Flow Treatment Facility (WWFTF) activated at11:07 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010.
- WWFTF in operation at 11:10 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010.
- SCADA alarms from all structures at 12:52 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010.
- Public Works employees called in at 1:28 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010
- Public Works crews dispatched at 2:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 with call logs from the Police Department.
- 30 tons of sand ordered at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010
- Proclamation of Emergency put into motion Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 9:00 a.m.
- Emergency Operation Center opens at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010
- Initial EOC briefing took place at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010.
- A conference call with DuPage County Emergency Operations Center took place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2010.
- Residents should report any emergencies by contacting 9-1-1.
- Storm damage can be called into Public Works at 630-834-8505 (7 to 3:30 Monday - Friday) or to the Police non emergency number at 630-834-7447 (after hours).
- The Village has received over 150 calls regarding the storm as of 2:30 p.m. on July 24, 2010. Please be patient, the Village will respond to your matter as soon as possible.
- Sand bags are available (self service) at the Salt Dome (749 N. Ardmore Ave., just north of the bridge, access via Hill Street).
- Villa Park residents who have had flooding in their basements may put out damaged items on the parkway for pick-up.
- The Village pumping facilities and the Wet Weather Flow Treatment Facility are all functioning but it will take some time for water levels to properly recede. In total there was more than 7 inches of rainfall in roughly a 12 hour period.
- Residents should contact their insurer for any damages on private property. At this time it is unknown if there will be any assistance from the Federal government. Anyone who needs assistance with flooded basements should contact a private contractor to assist with the matter. Your insurance carrier may be able to provide a recommendation.
- Do not go near retention ponds at this time because the water levels are higher than usual.
