The DASANI "Blue Bikes" community bicycle program, supported by Trek® , officially kicked off in Villa Park, Ill., during DuPage County Bike Day on June 25, 2005.

The initiative gives Chicago-area residents the free use of 20 brand-new Trek Cruiser Classic bicycles to explore the
61-mile Illinois Prairie Path & Great Western Trail, which winds through the western suburbs of Chicago.

Bike and explore the 52-mile Prairie Path, and the 12-mile Great Western Trail plus all the sights along the way! For a nominal fee, you can rent a bright blue bike, provided by Dasani, for three days. To use a bike you must obtain a swipe card from the Community Recreation Building, 320 E. Wildwood Ave. during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday or on Saturdays, at the Iowa Community Center, only from 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon. The swipe card then operates a storage locker located at the Historical Museum, 220 S. Villa Ave. on the Prairie Path.

All bikes are adult sized, single gear without lights. Ages 18 and older may borrow a bike, you simply need to sign a waiver (available below), provide a copy of your driver's license and a $10 cash refundable deposit.
