My husband, Michael Erlenbaugh, and I bought our first and only house thus far in Villa Park in February 1997. We decided to settle on the north side of town, also known as the "ABC Streets" area, because of the proximity to the commuter train station.
Over the years, I've gotten more involved in local activities, first organizing a Neighborhood Watch program on our block that continues to be a vital part of our neighborhood. This effort, coupled with my involvement with the Chamber of Commerce and Environmental Concerns Commission, has really helped me get better acquainted with the residents and our community. I will continue to utilize these local resources and many others as your trustee in Villa Park.
Personally, Michael and I enjoy outdoor activities, including camping and hiking, activities with friends, and travel to visit family, most of whom live out-of-state, as well as an occasional vacation. I also enjoy gardening (yes, even weed-pulling if I have to!), volunteer work, exercise, living a healthy, organic lifestyle, and reading books and magazines. Someday I even hope to write a book.
Professionally, I'm self-employed as a public relations/communications practitioner and voice-over talent. Prior to launching my own business, I spent a number of years in the communications field, including work as a community newspaper reporter and in non-profit management as a director for two nationally-based mental health non-profit organizations.
Michael and I are the proud aunt and uncle of four nieces and one nephew! And, we can't forget our immediate furry family members who constantly keep us entertained – Colby, our 85-pound Golden Retriever, and two cats, Sammy and Skylar.
Feedback from the residents is very important to me. If you have something on your mind – anything at all – please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for your support!
