The Villa Park Historic Preservation Commission would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere thanks to the generosity of the sponsors of the May 21, 2006 Historic Architecture Trolley Tour and to the people who worked so hard to make this event happen. We thank Reverend Erla Boyle of the Community Congregational Church of Villa Park for so graciously allowing us to use their facilities for this event and providing hospitality. The beautiful English gothic church, built in 1928, was open for touring and their lovely memorial garden was a peaceful place to visit.
Owners of the historic buildings and homes featured are commended for their preservation efforts in maintaining these important structures. The commission is very grateful to the Villa Park Historical Society for coordinating the trolley ticket reservations and the Chamber of Commerce for their support. The trolley event was a great success. Everyone had great time learning about Villa Park's history and architectural heritage. It also marked the beginning of Pride Week in Villa Park.
