  1. Cable TV Commission

    February 1, 2016, 6:00 PM @ Village Hall

    The Villa Park Cable Commission was established to oversee Villa Parks public access, education and government channel (TV VP Style on Comcast 6 and AT&T Channel 99) and issues related to the operation of the channel. The Cable Commission meets at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month, at the Village Hall, except when that Monday is a holiday, then the Commission meets the second Monday of that month. The public is welcome, and encouraged to attend all meetings.

    The Historical Preservation Commission advises the president and board of trustees on matters relating to the preservation of areas, places, sites, buildings, structures, and other objects having a special historical, community, or aesthetic interest, value, or significance to the village.

    The Historical Preservation commission meet on the first Thursday of every month, at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are held at the Villa Park Historical Society, 220 S. Villa Ave. The community is welcome to attend.

    The board meets at 7:30 p.m., on the first Thursday of each month. The board meets at 1770 West Centennial Place, in Addison, Illinois. Each term served by the board members lasts three years, and one of the 11 members is a representative of Villa Park.

    The Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association (NEDSRA) provides comprehensive recreation programs for handicapped individuals of all ages in the 11 area communities.

    The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission has been created to: advise the Village Board of Trustees on matters relating to the administration, operation, and conditions of recreation programs; to advise the Board of Trustees on matters relating to facilities, including the recreation buildings, swim pools, skate park, playgrounds, etc.; to advise the Board of Trustees on issues referred to the commission by the Board of Trustees; to assist the director of Parks and Recreation and other staff on developing and maintaining comprehensive recreation programs and opportunities for the village residents.

    The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Iowa Community Center.

  8. Summerfest Commission meeting

    The Summerfest Commission recommends to the village president and Board of Trustees an operating budget, entertainment and schedule of events for a family festival for the residents of Villa Park, known as Summerfest.

    The nine members of the Summerfest Commission meet at 7 p.m., on the second Wednesday of January, February, March, July, and November, the second and fourth Wednesdays of April and May, and every Wednesday in June leading up to Summerfest. Their meeting place is the Iowa Community Center, located at 338 North Iowa Avenue.

    The Economic Development Commission prepares and recommends to the Village Board procedures for the planning, execution, and implementation of business district plans, including plans for development of adjacent areas to provide for the housing, social and recreational needs of the business district.

    The Economic Development Department serves as the centralized information source for all economic development activities within the village. The director develops and implements economic development programs and strategies, with the objective of assisting businesses in starting, expanding, locating, and relocating within the village.

The club's current international project is in support of construction of bore wells and a small medical center in a rural area of Kenya.

  4. Villa Park Warriors Football & Cheer Registration

    February 6, 2016, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ Willowbrook High School

    Registration is open to boys and girls ages 5-14 (Grades K-8). Tackle Football is available for ages 7-14, and Flag Football is available to 5 ,6 and 7 year olds.

    Competitive Cheer is available to children in grades 4-6, and Non-competitive cheer is available for grades K-4.

    The early registration fee for Tackle Football and Competition Cheer is $225 with a minimum $25 non-refundable deposit due at registration. After early registration, the registration fee will be $250. The fee for Flag Football and Non-competitive Cheer is $100.

  8. Lombard Area AAUW Meeting

    Members of the Jane Addams Branch of the American Association of University Women will give a presentation on its AAUW Tech Savvy conference for middle school girls.

    The program will begin at 7 p.m. and will take place in Hatfield Hall of the First Church of Lombard, located at 220 South Main Street on the southwest corner of Main and Maple streets in downtown Lombard. The entrance to Hatfield Hall is located on Maple Street.

    Tech Savvy is a daylong science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) career conference designed to attract girls in sixth through ninth grades to these fields and to inform families about STEM education and careers. The next Chicagoland AAUW Tech Savvy Conference will be held at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines on Saturday April 16, 2016.

    Please consider assisting us during an upcoming event at Addison Trail and at Willowbrook. District 88 has partnered with the Young Hearts for Life® (YH4L) Cardiac Screening Program, a not-for-profit organization affiliated with Advocate Charitable Foundation, to offer free electrocardiograms (ECGs) to identify high school students at risk for heart conditions. The event will take place on Feb. 11, 2016, at Willowbrook and on Feb. 25, 2016, at Addison Trail. We’re asking for your help to serve as a volunteer – we need more than 80 volunteers at each event to ensure they run smoothly.

  17. Electronics Recycling

    The Village of Villa Park is coordinating with Roy Strom, the Village's waste hauler, to assist the Village and ensure residents and local businesses have an alternate disposal option. To meet the objective the Village has started E-Waste "the right way" a program designed to provide a convenient, "no cost," environmentally responsible solution for the community. A registered IEPA collector, recyclers and refurbishes of electronic waste will properly process program-accepted electronics.

    The drop-off site is open on the third Saturday of every month, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Public Works Garage, located at 20 W. Home Ave. This free service is only available to Villa Park residents. Please have ID ready.

  22. State of the Village 2016

    All are invited to Villa Park’s State of the Village address on Feb. 25. The presentation is an opportunity to review the accomplishments of last year including the approval of a new Parks and Recreation Master Plan as well as the arrival of a new, grant-funded fire engine. Included will be an overview of exciting items on this year’s agenda such as continued street improvements and the completion of renovations at Cortesi Veterans Memorial Park.

    Attendees will hear about current projects in each Village department. All are invited to hear about Villa Park’s 2015 achievements and the exciting projects to come. Plans and initiatives for the future illustrate how the Village will continue to build on this great community.

  24. PIE Foundation 2016 Fundraiser

    The Partnership for Inspired Education (PIE) Foundation invites you to an evening of entertainment, dining and fun to raise money for students in DuPage County school districts 4, 45, 48 and 88. The PIE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that serves public school students in those districts.

    The PIE Foundation's 2016 fundraiser is a perfect family outing and shopping experience. The evening will feature a performance of "Bye Bye Birdie," dinner and an auction with sports memorabilia and tickets to games, weekend getaway packages, jewelry and other unique items. There also will be a "Win-Win" raffle with gift certificates, a "Surprise Prize" raffle and a "Big Raffle" with several items of high value.
