Village Staff Thanks Willowbrook Student-Athletes for Assistance Shoveling Snow

Village Staff thanked Willowbrook student-athletes for their help shoveling snow in the community with a pizza lunch Jan. 28.

VILLA PARK - Village staff recently thanked Willowbrook High School student-athletes who volunteered to assist Villa Park senior residents with snow shoveling.

Students from Willowbrook's boys basketball, baseball and football teams graciously volunteered their time following the icy snow event at the end of December 2015 to shovel driveways for senior residents who could not.

The group of teens demonstrated their community pride and cleared about a dozen driveways of ice and snow simply as a kind gesture.

Secretary of State's Office Stops Mailing Vehicle Registration Renewal Reminders, IEPA Suspends Vehicle Emissions Test Notice Mailings

VILLA PARK - Due to the lack of a state budget, the Secretary of State's office is suspending the mailing of vehicle registration renewal reminder notices, according to a message on the office's website.

Vehicle owners are encouraged to be mindful of their vehicle registration status. Motorists can sign up to receive reminder notices electronically by email. Sign up for electronic reminders here.

In addition, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) also suspended the mailing of vehicle emissions test notices beginning December 2015. Vehicle owners whose license plates expire at the end of March 2016 will be the first motorists who will not receive the vehicle emissions test notice.
