Over the last 40 years, the Historical Society, Historical Museum and Historical Preservation Commission have worked to collect and preserve local history. They are always working to maintain object collections and update archives.
The Historical Museum, which originally served at the Villa Ave stop for the Chicago, Aurora and Elgin electric train line, welcomes visitors almost every day of the week (no Mondays) and features permanent exhibits of local history and special exhibits each year. The Historical Society provides museum tours.
The Historical Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday weekly from April 7th until Mid-December. Hours: Tuesday-Friday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturday + Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The It is free to the public! Enjoy the wonderful history that Villa Park has to offer by visiting. The museum is located at 220 S. Villa Ave, right along the Illinois Prairie Path.
