Village Staff and Volunteers Plant Butterfly Garden at The Depot

On September 21st, 2017, the Village teamed with The Conservation Foundation, the DuPage Monarch Project and local volunteers to plant butterfly gardens along the Great Western Trail near S. Villa at and the former (newly renovated) train depot. New plantings include Milkweed and other butterfly-attractant flowers and grasses. Staff and volunteers were excited to learn about the plantings and the beautiful Monarch butterfly, and got to witness a butterfly release. The gardens are sponsored by the Economic Development Commission, the Environmental Concerns Commission, the Kenilworth Watch Group, the Community Pride Commission and the Villa Park Garden Club. Thanks to all who attended and helped with the plantings--the gardens will be an asset to the Village for years to come!
