The Police Department requires that business and property owners whose buildings have burglar alarm systems register their properties with the Village. Officers frequently respond to false alarm activation and have difficulty making contact with an owner or manager because alarm holders do not keep their information updated with the police department. This permitting process allows the Police Department to keep accurate records on who to contact in the case that an alarm is activated.
